Registration

Admission is offered to students of all communities, without distinction of caste, creed, colour or religion in St. George’s College.
Registration entitles a student to appear for the Entrance Test and does not guarantee admission. Admissions are finalized on the basis of the child’s performance in the Entrance Test.

The cost of the prospectus is 1,000/-, 1500/- (for Indian/Overseas students respectively).
Registration process begins between April to August every year. The following documents required:

  • A Demand Draft for Rs. 5,000/- in favour of St. George’s College, Mussoorie, payable at Mussoorie.
  • Three recent passport size photographs of the student.
  • The latest progress report of the student.

Registration for Class IV:

Admission is open only in class IV.
The child is tested in English and Maths on the basis of Class III syllabus.
The eligible age for Class IV registration is nine plus.

Registration for Classes V to IX:

Availability of seats depends on vacancies. Qualified students will be intimated about the confirmed seats in January/February. The new academic session commences in March.

The eligible age for registration is as follows:
Class V 10 plus.
Class VI 11 plus.
Class VII 12 plus.
Class VIII 13 plus.
Class IX 14 plus.

Registration for Class XI:

Registration is open between October to February.
We offer Provisions admission in Class XI in the Commerce and Science Streams.
The Entrance Test is held every year by end of March after the Board Exams.

Registration form should include the Pre-Board Marks, Character Certificate and three passport size photographs.
The session commences in April.

NOTE:  The School fees can be paid in two or three installments for old students. 

The last date for the first installment is on or before 6th March and remaining dues to be cleared before 31th July 2012.

A fine of 20% will be levied on accounts not cleared by the dates mentioned above.

Fee Rules

Registration fees and Admission fees are non-refundable.

The fee amounts are subjects to revision as advised by Governing body of the school from time to time.

Boarding fees are charged from March 1st to November 30th i.e. for nine months while tuition fees are charged for twelve months, March to February.

School fees for the whole year may be paid in one, two or three installments. The first installment to be paid by the first week of March. The Second/Third installment to be paid by the first week of August.

Caution money (security deposit) will be charged from every boarder and day scholar and the same will be refunded without interest when the student leaves school.

Special medicines, special diet, books and stationery, sports gear and shoe repairs, toilet requisites etc. form separate charges.

No reduction in fees is made on account of a student returning late to College or for broken periods.

A fine of 20% will be levied on accounts not cleared on time.

Payment will be accepted by bank draft drawn on any bank in Mussoorie. No cheques are accepted.

Each student is provided with a locker and cupboard each which can easily accommodate the above mentioned articles or more of them.

All articles should be distinctly marked with the student's name and stock number; it is recommended that a list be pasted on the lid of his trunk/suitcase.

Laundry Services are available once a week.

Note: Stationery, sports equipments, toiletries and such other items of daily use are also available in the school at market price, which are billed to the student's account, in case the student wants.

Accommodation & Food

Accommodation to Boarders is provided in dormitories according to Grades. The dormitory and locker system is divided into 5 sections:

Grades IV, V & VI
Grade VII
Grade VIII
Grades IX & X
Grades XI & XII

Indian Cuisine - Pure Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian is served. 

As the food is wholesome, varied and abundant extras in the way of food are not granted unless necessary under medical reasons. They will be charged as extras. 

No tuck is allowed.

Outings/Leaves

Parents/guardians or those authorized by the parents are permitted to take their wards out only on the days prescribed by the School Calendar.

Visitors are not allowed to see the students without the expressed permission of the Principal. Students are also not allowed to see the visitors in the school without the Principal's permission.

Pocket Money

Students can open an account in State Bank of India, St. George's College Extension Counter. They are permitted to withdraw a limited amount per week from their bank accounts.

Students are also given a regular amount of pocket money through the school. They should not be encouraged to keep large sums of money with them. Money should also not be kept with teachers and other staff members. Unlimited pocket money leads to unhealthy practices.

General Rules

All correspondence to and from the student is controlled by the Principal.
Every student must write once a week to his parents or guardians.
A report on health, conduct, application and progress of each student is sent home after each examination.
Students may not keep large sums of money with them. Valuables, expensive watches, cell phones etc. are strictly forbidden.
No advance will be given by the College on account of traveling expenses, extra pocket money etc. Parents are requested to send money for such contingencies by Money Order to their children. Cheques and Drafts will not be accepted.
Any boy whose application, progress or conduct is unsatisfactory may be dismissed at the discretion of the Principal and sent home with an escort at the expense of the boy's parents.


Note: The school takes every precaution to ensure the safety of the children. However, the school will not be liable for any damages/charges/costs on account of accidents in school, or while on treks, hikes, excursions or other activities.
The school reserves the right to revise, delete, and change the rules as mentioned here at any time and without giving any prior notice.
Any legal matter is subject to the jurisdiction of Mussoorie / Dehradun only.
