Inborn philanthropy...

In the present world, there are people both rich and poor and since India is a country with an uneven distribution of wealth, a large rift between the rich and the poor exists. God has bestowed upon us wealth so it is our duty to help the poor and needy ones. Manorites have realised this and so we consider ourselves to be the lucky ones and trusteeship of the poor. Community service has always been an integral part and parcel of our education. We, in St. George's call it Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW).We look forward to saturday afternoons when the group of people belonging to the social welfare club go for community service on our behalf. Regular trips to neglected areas are a routine in the life of every Manorite. Our school in its very own surroundings bestows the Christian Village, where majority of our workers and their families reside. Boys have been going to this village to interact with the poor and acknowledge their way of living.

The Nirmala High School, a school for the less privileged section of the society is managed by our very own school. St. George's provides the students of this school with education and food. SGC provides free mid-day meal to the students of Nirmala High School, thanks to the generous contributions of Manorites and their parents. Chamasari, a village approximately 9 kms uphill from our campus has become the highlight of our community service after Nirmala High School. This Village inhabited by the underprivileged has been adopted by our school. "Gyan Jyoti" another school for the little children has also been started by us. We boys normally take down packets of sweets and distribute to the children, sharing our smiles and extending our love and affection. We also carry cartons of clothes and other donated items from the students of our school.

St. George's is thus ensuring that the world in the future has honest philanthropic Manorites as its citizens.
